Thanksgiving is right around the corner. So what better craft than a sign which expresses what this holiday is all about!
Although I believe we should be thankful as well as show thankfulness all year round. This is the time of year where folks seem to have an abundance of gratitude.
I have always liked the little signs spelling out words with the letters standing upright. With that in mind I stumbled upon these super cute white letters and simply couldn’t help myself! Yes I am the person who walks all around the craft store looking for ideas and dreaming up crafts in the process.
For this project I didn’t want to have to do a lot.
Originally I thought I would get some raw letters and paint them myself. Then as I was looking at all the different letter options I noticed these little letters that were already painted white! I was excited because immediately I knocked out one step of the creative process.
The letters weren’t as big as I had wanted them to be however they still work and with ‘Thankful’ being a longer word I felt like it turned out fine.
Hobby Lobby also had this thin piece of plywood for $5.99 so I grabbed it and headed home!
I sanded down the edges of the plywood. Then I used some leftover chalk paint from when I painted my kitchen cabinets. I put a thin coat over the top and sides of the piece of wood. While it was drying I located my glue gun…kids…need I say more?
I also had to search for my stash of glue sticks!
Once all of those items were found I went back to the now dry piece of wood and proceeded to plan out exactly where I wanted the letters to go.
I plugged in my glue gun and started glueing those babies to the top!
In less than 5 minutes I was left with a super cute and pretty sign that I know we will most likely leave up all year round!
For less than $20 I made this sign. Now if you used a coupon to cover the piece of wood or a coupon to receive a percentage off of your purchase this project would cost even less!
The beauty is that you can make a sign just like this to say whatever you want!
- Last name
- Merry Christmas
- Live Laugh Love
- Faith Hope Love
- Silent Night
- Joy to the World
The list is endless!
I hope this inspires you to get creative and make for yourself one of these super easy little signs! You’ll be glad you did 🙂
